Our coffee may or may not be Fair Trade Certified. That said, we only purchase coffee from connections made with producers directly or with importers that give us extreme confidence that their coffee has been ethically sourced. It's common for coffee producers to forego the costly certification process and seek out importers and roasters directly.

+ What brew methods do you recommend?

Hover over the LEARN tab at the top of this screen and choose "Brew Methods". That's a good place to start! We think most commonly used brew methods (e.g., coffee machine, pourover, French press) are great and have their own positives and negatives. If you're ever in one of our shops, be sure to ask the baristas for their opinions!

+ How should I store my coffee, and how long will my coffee stay fresh?

The main things we think you should try to avoid are sunlight, heat, oxygen, and moisture. With those things in mind, we suggest an opaque container in a dark, dry place.

Throw your bag of Boomtown (which is opaque and has a zip seal) in the pantry and you should be good for about 3 months. DO NOT throw your coffee in the fridge or freezer, because condensation can create moisture on the outside of your beans.

Ground coffee goes staler much faster, so we reccomend going through it quickly. Grinding right before brewing is ideal.

+ Do you have decaf?

We do! We usually have two decaf options in the store. These will always be "Swiss Water Processed", which means they have become decaffeinated without harmful chemicals and with maximum flavor.
